Day 20: Saturday, June 15th
Today we checked out the site to make sure the slab was still coated in curing water.
We met with Kumaresan at his office in the nearby city of Chengalpattu.
While there we discussed how future updates will be received and what color the building will be. As I had expected, selecting colors was a contentious issue. Therefore the color of the building will be: TBD! We didn’t all agree on anything!
Kumaresan is a friendly, generous man, providing more sodas and cookies than any of us could eat!
After the meeting, we picked up decorations for the impending ceremony from a shop down the street from Kumaresan's office.
As we left, Kumaresan had to spoil us even more, and bought us ice cream for the ride back to the village. Yum!
Later, we played with the kids one last time. The "advent calendar" had only one unmarked day left. The kids understood and made the most of it.
I think the images from this evening depict the night with better description than words could. In all honesty, this was the real departing ceremony.
